BCSJ Explores the Future of Retail and Workspace Innovation at Signature Workspace Tour

BCSJ recently welcomed members and guests to a dynamic facility tour at Signature Workspace, located within the iconic Cherry Hill Mall, on May 14, 2026. The event brought together professionals from across South Jersey for a morning of networking, collaboration, and insight into how the modern workplace and retail environment continues to evolve.

Located inside one of the region’s most recognized retail destinations, Signature Workspace represents a growing trend in the transformation of malls from traditional shopping centers into multi-use experiential environments. The 11,251-square-foot coworking concept offers private offices, meeting rooms, event space, coworking memberships, and flexible workspace solutions designed for today’s hybrid workforce.

As consumer habits continue to shift, mall owners and operators are rethinking how their properties serve communities beyond retail alone. Across the country, successful malls are incorporating entertainment, wellness, dining, fitness, residential, hospitality, and flexible office concepts to create destinations where people can work, socialize, and spend time — not simply shop. Signature Workspace’s presence inside Cherry Hill Mall is a prime example of this evolution, blending productivity and convenience in a highly amenitized environment.

The discussion during the tour highlighted how adaptability and experience-driven environments are becoming critical to the future success of retail properties. Cherry Hill Mall itself continues to evolve, with PREIT recently announcing additional experiential redevelopment initiatives at the property, including the future addition of a Dick’s House of Sport concept.

Building on the momentum of this event, BCSJ is excited to continue the conversation at our upcoming June program, “Retail Reimagined,” featuring Joe Aristone of PREIT. The event will feature a fireside chat moderated by Jackie Mierkowski, President of BCSJ, as they explore the changing retail landscape and the strategies shaping the future of commercial real estate.

From the evolution of legacy mall assets like Moorestown Mall and Cherry Hill Mall to broader investment strategy decisions, Joe will share real-world insights on what’s working, what’s not, and how owners are adapting in today’s environment. The conversation will dive into changing consumer behavior, the growing importance of “experience” in physical spaces, and what differentiates thriving retail properties from those still facing challenges.

As South Jersey’s commercial landscape continues to evolve, BCSJ remains committed to creating opportunities for meaningful conversations, relationship-building, and education surrounding the trends impacting our region most.
