About the Speaker:
Michelle is co-founder and CEO of Little Brown Bird Foods (LBB) in South Jersey. LBB is a family-owned set of businesses including Sparrow’s retail shops in Haddonfield and Reading Terminal Market; Little Brown Bird Bakery; and Little Brown Bird Foods contract manufacturing. LBB is based in Pennsauken, NJ.
After a career in healthcare and education, most recently at Penn Medicine/University of Pennsylvania, Michelle joined husband Ryan Sparrow in founding Sparrow’s retail division during the pandemic and launched the manufacturing division in 2023. Both Michelle and Ryan grew up in families that worked in food production and Ryan has spent the past 35 years dedicated to food manufacturing. Their daughter Abigail Sparrow joined the business in 2021.
