The Businesses Committed to South Jersey (BCSJ) community gathered on October 16, 2025 for an engaging luncheon featuring Michelle Sparrow, MBA Co-Founder and CEO of Little Brown Bird Foods (LBB). Members and guests enjoyed a powerful look into how one South Jersey family turned passion, perseverance, and purpose into a thriving retail, bakery, and manufacturing business.
Michelle shared her journey from a career in healthcare and education, most recently at Penn Medicine/University of Pennsylvania, to joining her husband, Ryan Sparrow, in building a family-owned business rooted in South Jersey. From opening Sparrow’s retail shops in Haddonfield and Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market during the pandemic to launching Little Brown Bird Bakery and LBB’s contract manufacturing division in Pennsauken, the Sparrows’ story is one of resilience, adaptability, and entrepreneurial vision.
The event highlighted what makes BCSJ such a valuable network — meaningful connections, authentic stories, and opportunities to learn from South Jersey’s business leaders across industries, from commercial real estate to local enterprise. Attendees left feeling inspired, energized, and reminded of the power of community in driving both business and regional growth.
As BCSJ continues to expand its calendar of networking luncheons, mixers, and industry events, members have access to a growing network of professionals shaping the future of commercial real estate and business in South Jersey.
